BSC-Gastro is an innovative supplement from the British Seabuckthorn Company (BSC). The SeaBuckthorn plant has a long tradition of use that is supported by extensive research. The puree has been proven to support gastric health in horses subjected to food deprivation, so we started there and made the most comprehensive gastric supplement that we could.
We began by increasing the concentration of the original BSC-SeaBuckthorn puree with added pulp and seed oils to boost the Omega-7 and Omega-3 content, and leaf extract for added anti-oxidant potency.
Then we looked for proven extracts for further gastric support. Grape seed, liquorice root, black cumin seed oil and apple pectin provide a complex blend of highly anti-oxidant and shielding nutrient compounds (including procyanidins, glabridol and other flavonoids, and thymoquinone). These extracts have been chosen to work in unison, supporting healing, encouraging natural mucosal protection and forming a defensive barrier.
As well as supporting both upper and lower regions of the stomach, BSC-Gastro nourishes the intestinal lining which is often affected but goes undetected. With BSC-SeaBuckthorn as its base, it also helps to stabilise the hindgut bacteria for improved digestive health and efficiency.
